Step into a fascinating world: a world of granite giants, enchanting landscapes and workshops where tradition meets innovation.
10.00 am • Meet your guide at the Maison du Sidobre for a journey into ‘the world of granite’ through technical tours and a film. This tour allows you to discover every stage of granite working, including a visit to the Plo quarry,
the largest in France, where you’ll learn about its extraction techniques. Visit a processing workshop, from raw rock to finished product. Visit the Sentier des Immortels and Lac du Merle…
1.00 pm • Family lunch at the Auberge du Tilleul to savour the house speciality, poule au pot…
Departure for Missègle.
3.00 pm • Discover one of the last knitting workshops in France. Nestled in the heart of Occitanie, in the Sidobre region, the Atelier Missègle was founded in 1983 when its founder, Myriam Joly, established one of the first angora goat farms in France. You’ll discover both the latest techniques and traditional craftsmanship, all dedicated to producing soft fabrics whilst respecting the environment.
