"La Petite Maison dans le Sidobre" is situated right in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park. Are you looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature?
Discover this little stone cottage in a hamlet in the Sidobre region, ideal for holidays with family or friends. We’ve renovated it, but not too much, to preserve the authentic charm of this old dry-stone farmhouse.
I live in the hamlet. I’ve been renovating it for three years now. I’d be delighted to show you around my home and the local area if you need any advice.
The Sidobre region is also home to authentic towns and villages with fascinating histories, some steeped in legend. Discover the tale of the princess with violet eyes in Burlats, or take a leisurely stroll through Roquecourbe to admire the half-timbered houses. In Brassac, it is the old bridge over the Agout that is the talk of the town: in days gone by, it separated Catholics from Protestants. The Sidobre massif is the largest granite plateau in Europe. A region of extraordinary landscapes, it features a succession of gigantic granite boulders with unusual shapes that seem to defy the laws of gravity. The Peyro Clabado, or ‘nailed stone’, is a perfect example: weighing nearly 800 tonnes, how does this enormous rock manage to balance on a base much smaller than itself? Other incredible sites worth exploring include the Chaos de la Resse, which resembles a river of rocks, the romantic Lac du Merle, the Roc de l'Oie and the ‘Path of Wonders’. Gastronomy: About twenty kilometres away, you can visit Lacaune and sample its famous charcuterie, or pop into the Fabre dairy to pick up some excellent yoghurt or cheese.
