Located in Le Bez, Gîte des Hortensias enjoys a privileged setting, directly bordering the forest and close to the granite landscapes of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park. From the hamlet, footpaths lead to the emblematic sites of the Sidobre, such as Lac du Merle, the Sentier des Merveilles, Roc de l’Oie and Peyro Clabado, reachable within 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on the route. Just a few kilometres away, Castres, Brassac and Burlats offer heritage sites, markets, local artisans and charming discoveries.
Biodiversity is ever-present: roe deer, green woodpeckers, salamanders, birds of prey and even wild boar tracks can be spotted — ideal for fully immersing yourself in nature. In the evening, the sky opens magnificently above you, revealing a starry display within easy reach. The gentle sounds of the surrounding forest create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. During winter, the wood-burning stove provides a cosy and comfortable retreat.
On the ground floor, the gîte features a fully equipped kitchen (filter coffee maker). The open dining area and living room create a welcoming space for meals and relaxation.
Upstairs, accessed via a steep ship-style staircase, you will find the sleeping area as well as a functional shower room with toilet.

Outside, a garden with terrace and lounge area allows you to enjoy the peace of the hamlet, outdoor breakfasts or a sunny moment of relaxation.
A private parking space is reserved about 200 metres away, with the possibility to unload near the gîte. Pets are welcome at an additional charge and must be kept on a leash within the hamlet. Mobile coverage may be limited at times — perfect for gently disconnecting.
Upon request, board games, books, mini pancake makers, fondue sets or a rice cooker can be provided. In winter or mid-season, remember to bring slippers and suitable footwear.
