Goal:

🌿When you live in a big city, summer often means overwhelming heat. This year, we wanted a green holiday: swimming, walking in the shade of the forests and avoiding the crowds.

We also had a few criteria: a large pool, the possibility of paying with holiday vouchers, accommodation with 3 bedrooms and amenities close to where we were staying.
Off to Sidobre & Valleys, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park, in the small mountains of the Tarn , less than 3 hours from Montpellier for us.

We called the Tourist Office to get direct contacts for accommodation, with zero commission — thank you! — and booked at Camping La Forêt**: a mobile home with 3 bedrooms, unlimited access to the water park, fishing rods available to borrow, and above all… heritage tickets to pay less for visits. A controlled budget, thanks also to holiday vouchers. ✔️

Day 8 – Return home (already…)

Picnic by the water in Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare on the beautiful road home.
We leave with one certainty: “the Tarn does you good”, as the department’s slogan says.

Why do we 100% recommend it?

✔️ Cooler temperatures than on the plains
✔️ Free or very affordable nature activities
✔️ Discounts through the Tourist Office
✔️ Holiday vouchers accepted
✔️ Authentic atmosphere, zero mass tourism
✔️ Perfect for a large family

We wanted green, cool and simple. We found much more: an accessible, rich and still-preserved family destination.
