Born in 1967 in Montpellier, Sauveur Aïello is a painter who trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nîmes, where he studied under Claude Viallat, Vincent Bioulès and Jean Azemard. He then continued his training at the Koninklijke Akademie van Schone Kunsten in Antwerp, where he immersed himself in the techniques of Flemish painting and academic drawing.
Alternating between oil painting and watercolour, Sauveur Aïello explores the depth and density of the medium as well as transparency and movement. His work is part of an ongoing dialogue between pictorial tradition and the contemporary, inviting the viewer to contemplate and reflect on our relationship with the environment.
