It was refurbished by the powerful Bourbon-Malauze family during the Renaissance.
Damaged during the Revolution, the castle was divided up and then sold to several families. It was listed in 1927 on the supplementary register of historic monuments. It was purchased by the town council in 1997. This château, which has been designated a “Centre of Rural Excellence”, is now a hub for cultural exchange and artistic creation known as the “AGORA des Hautes Terres d’Oc”. Featuring an amphitheatre and meeting and reception rooms, it provides a stunning setting for conferences, seminars and other events. Here you can enjoy temporary art exhibitions, dance, music and theatre performances, as well as a permanent collection of wooden sculptures by René Prestat.
For children, a knight’s outfit (tunic, shield and sword) is available to borrow for the tour of the castle and the village.
From April to October, a Tourist Information Point is open in the castle’s reception hall.
