The origins of this edifice date back to the 9th century. A Benedictine priory was founded here in the 11th century. Pope John XXII created the collegiate chapter of Burlats in 1318. The collegiate church was partly destroyed during the Wars of Religion and then during the French Revolution. In 1835, the commune bought the ruined parts of the site, which belonged to a private individual, and converted them into housing.
