Just a stone’s throw from the famous Peyro-Clabado, discover the Jean Cros Museum and its astonishing collection of minerals and fossils.
Here you’ll find a myriad of stones: the stone used for the obelisks of ancient Egypt, the beautiful blue stone from Zaire, the splendid gogotes, hornstone and geodes from Brazil, a 200-million-year-old fish… and, above all, the finest stones from the Tarn, with their shimmering colours of chalcedony, gold and quartz.
This impressive private collection includes minerals and fossils from the region as well as from all over the world.
In the shop, you’ll find jewellery made from semi-precious stones, as well as handcrafted and artistic creations.
Activities (for children and adults) centred on traditional crafts are available by appointment.
For groups, there’s a free introduction to the history of the Sidobre region during guided tours. You may also have the chance to meet the sculptor Jacques Bourges.
