Follow the 23-stop historical trail to discover the "Sacradel" region!
The term *Sacradel* (masculine) or *Sacradelle* means "Sacred Land" in Occitan; the name was coined by local poet Jean-Louis Alibert.
Just outside Roquecourbe, on the road to Lacrouzette, be sure to visit the archaeological site of Sainte-Juliane. This major place of worship was destroyed in 1210 during the Albigensian Crusade. Excavations have uncovered tiered seating, vats, and sarcophagi. Together with the church ruins, they bear witness to the successive presence of Celts, Visigoths, and various Christian denominations. Let yourself be moved by the atmosphere of this site, which will immerse you in history.
